What a find. This place is wonderful.

There's a Swedish word, lagom. It means "just enough". Not too much, not too little, but just right. That's exactly what this little studio apartment is to me.

I've spent the last 20 months travelling the world, keeping a list in my notebook of what I call "sanctuary places". Not just places I'd return to for the sights, but places I'd genuinely want to live for a while. This apartment made the list.

I didn't use public transport once in Sofia because I simply didn't need to. The location is perfect. It's a stone's throw from the Red Apartment, the old market, the Church of Saint George, and most of the city's main attractions.

It's also a wonderful place just to relax or work from and enjoy the city.

Nikola is a genuinely kind host, always quick with helpful suggestions. He even arranged an early check-in and late check-out, which I really appreciated.

I've found my place in Sofia. I'll definitely be coming back.
